Hale & Marlow is a small, independent jewelry shop based in Houston, Texas.

We started it because we wanted small, pretty pieces at prices that do not need a special occasion, from a shop that tells you exactly what you are buying. Most listings at this price call plated metal "gold" and glass "pearl". We do not. Every piece here says faux pearl, crystal-effect, opal-effect, gold tone or silver tone, because that is what it is.

How pieces get here

We pick each piece and order a sample to our own address to check the clasp, the color and the finish. Sometimes a new piece goes on the site while its sample is still on the way; when that happens, its product page says so, and we update the page once we have checked it. If a sample does not pass, we take the piece down.

Where things ship from

Some pieces ship from a US warehouse (usually 3 to 7 business days). Others ship from our supplier overseas (usually 8 to 12 business days). Each product page says which, under Details, before you check out. Shipping is free on every US order.

If something is wrong

Arrived damaged, defective or not what you ordered? Email a photo within 7 days of delivery and we will send a replacement or a full refund, no return needed. Changed your mind? You have 30 days to return it. A real person reads every message, usually within one business day.

The photos

Many of the on-body and styled photos on this site are AI renders made from photos of the real product, created to match its real color and scale. Supplier photos of the actual piece are on the product pages too.

A note from us

We are not a big company. We are a couple of people who like jewelry, who got tired of ordering something that looked lovely on a screen and arrived looking like a different thing, and who decided to run a shop the way we wished other shops ran.

So here is what we promise. We will never call something gold when it is gold tone. We will never let a piece go out that we would not wear ourselves. We will tell you where it ships from and how long it takes before you pay, not after. And if something goes wrong, you will reach a person who will fix it, not a form.

Most of what we sell costs less than dinner out. We think it should still feel like something you were glad you bought, every time you put it on. If it does, tell a friend. If it does not, tell us, and we will make it right.
